As we enter Holy Week, we anticipate the celebration of the Resurrection and the renewal the Easter season brings. With the arrival of spring, we formally leave winter behind and prepare for the responsibilities and opportunities that come with warmer weather. In that spirit, this issue of Tomorrow offers guidance to help you plan thoughtfully for key moments in life and ministry — from church maintenance and funeral planning to debt management and preparation for summer travel.
In “A Conversation with the New CCSO,” we introduce Gerald Delk, who joined MMBB last December as Chief Client Services Officer. His profile shares the vision and the plans he has for MMBB’s Member Relations, Strategic Growth, and Financial Planning teams. We also address the ongoing care and upkeep of ministry spaces in “Six Steps to Prepare for Church Maintenance and Repairs,” which provides practical insights into planning and financing the periodic repairs needed to support church facilities and grounds.
During seasons of loss, financial decisions can be especially difficult. Our article, “Approaching Funeral Costs with Faith and Care,” explores how planning ahead can help lessen the financial burden on loved ones by addressing funeral and burial expenses in advance. We also conclude our series on managing debt with “Are Debt Relief Agencies Helpful? Part 2,” offering additional perspective for those weighing their options. Finally, as spring and summer vacation season approaches, our Financial Fact — “Is Travel Insurance Worth It?”— examines the benefits and drawbacks of travel insurance to help you make informed decisions.
As we approach Resurrection Sunday, I leave you with this scripture: “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.” (1 Peter 3:18, NIV). This verse reminds us of the core beliefs of our faith — Christ’s sacrifice and God’s love and redemptive grace. May this season of remembrance and hope draw you closer to God and bring renewal to your heart and spirit.
I wish you a blessed Holy Week.
In Christ,
Perry J. Hopper
