Getting the Most Out of the MMBB Member Portal

The MMBB Member Portal is designed to put essential information at your fingertips—anytime, anywhere—with tools that help you better understand your MMBB retirement account and manage your financial future. Whether you’re checking your account balance, reviewing your Annual Benefits Statement, or updating your personal information, the portal gives you a simple and secure way to stay connected to your MMBB benefits. Here are some tips to help you make the most of everything the portal offers.

One of the first places many members go is the Member Documents section of the dashboard. This is where you will find: 

• Your Annual Benefits Statement, a key resource for reviewing your retirement savings, projected annuity income, and plan activity over the past year.
• The Clergy Tax Guide. The Clergy Tax Guide is offered to members at no additional cost. Starting this year, you can access the guide in this section of the portal rather than on the Church Finance pages of mmbb.org. 
• Annuity Payout Value. If you are an annuitant, the portal also allows you to view your current annuity payout value.

The portal also makes it easy to keep up with your retirement account balance and investment details. On the home page, you’ll see a quick view snapshot of your current balance. If you want deeper insights into your savings or investment allocations, you can access the NetBenefits platform directly through the Member Portal. Simply click “View Account Details” in the Your Plans section—or use the “Choose My Funds” quick link at the top of the page. These links take you seamlessly into NetBenefits, where you’ll find more detailed information about your portfolio, transaction history, investment performance, and fund options.

Keeping your personal information up to date is another essential practice for getting the most out of the portal. Ensuring your contact information is current helps MMBB reach you with timely updates, reminders, and notices. You can:

• Revise your phone numbers, email addresses and mailing information at your convenience, day or night on the portal. Start by selecting “View/Update My Profile.” 
• Remove outdated or incorrect contact information. One note: while the portal does not allow you to delete your preferred contact method, you can add new information and then designate it as the preferred method before removing an older entry.
• Update your beneficiaries. Another important step is reviewing your beneficiary information. Your beneficiaries determine who will receive benefits from your plan in the event of your death, making accuracy essential. The “View/Update My Beneficiaries” quick link at the top of the page lets you confirm and update your designations directly. Life circumstances change—and your beneficiary choices should reflect that. The portal makes these updates easy and immediate, so your intentions are always clear and current.

If you have trouble logging in, help is close at hand. If you forget your password or lock yourself out of your account, simply use the reset or unlock features on the login page. You only need to enter your username or the email associated with your account to receive a secure password reset link.

Finally, if you feel unsure about how to navigate the portal, MMBB offers a Member Portal Video Tour, which walks you through the site step by step. This tour is located at the top of the portal dashboard. It’s an excellent resource—perfect for new members and a helpful refresher for long-time users. To direct additional questions not covered by the video, click the Member Service Inquiry icon in the Questions section of the portal.
